MTV hat Robert Rodriguez während eines aktuellen Interviews weitere Details zu Sin City: A Dame to Kill For entlockt. So steht die Rückkehr von Mickey Rourke und Rosario Dawson nun definitiv fest: “Ich habe mich am letzten Wochenende mit Mickey getroffen. Er ist verdammt aufgeregt und freut sich schon auf die Rückkehr. Rosario ist mir ebenfalls über den Weg gelaufen, auch sie kann es kaum noch erwarten. Sie alle waren immer für die Idee einer Fortsetzung zu haben.” Sin City 2 soll ähnlich aufgebaut sein wie der Vorgänger und aus drei nahezu unabhängigen Geschichten bestehen. “Drei ist eine gute Zahl. Zwei würde sich einfach merkwürdig anfühlen. Es hat schon bei Sin City funktioniert – vermutlich die einzige funktionierende Anthologie, die mir momentan in den Sinn kommt.” Das offizielle Casting soll bald unter den strengen Blicken von Rodriguez und Frank Miller über die Bühne gehen, auch wenn der Comicschöpfer stets das letzte Wort haben dürfte und bestimmen muss, welche Darsteller seine erdachten Figuren am besten verkörpern. Die Handlung basiert auf dem gleichnamigen Comic, in dem Dwight McCarthy (Clive Owen) auf Rache an Ava Lord aus ist und Nancy (Jessica Alba) um den verstorbenen Hartigan trauert.

Peter Jackson wird in seinem neuesten Film Der Hobbit – Eine unerwartete Reise mit 48 anstatt 24 Bilder pro Sekunde arbeiten. Aber wie viele Zuschauer werden den Film in dieser Qualität bestaunen können?
Die Zukunft der Filmtechnik ist zur Zeit ein ganz großes Thema. Christopher Nolan bekannte sich vor kurzem zum IMAX-Format und gegen 3D. Michael Bay und James Cameron hingegen arbeiten bereits intensiv mit der stereoskopen Bildtechnik. Peter Jackson fügt dieser Diskussion nun – Achtung Wortspiel – eine dritte Dimension hinzu.
Der neueste Schrei ist die Nutzung von 3D in Kombination mit 48 anstatt wie bisher 24 Bildern pro Sekunde. Mit dieser Technik arbeitet Peter Jackson in seinem Projekt Der Hobbit – Eine unerwartete Reise. Durch die Verdoppelung der Bildanzahl soll das Problem der leichten Unschärfe gelöst werden, die bei 3D-Filmen in schnellen Actionssequenzen auftauchen kann. Um sicher zu gehen, sind für die Zukunft auch schon 60 Bilder pro Sekunde im Gespräch….

Bei MARVEL laufen die Vorbereitungen für die Zeit nach Marvels The Avengers weiter auf Hochtouren. Als erstes Folgeprojekt geht am 2. Mai 2013 Iron Man 3 an den Start und wie nun bekannt wurde, soll kein Geringerer als Sir Ben Kingsley (Prince of Persia – Der Sand der Zeit, Shutter Island) der nächste Widersacher von Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) werden.
Damit würde er in die Fußstapfen von Jeff Bridges, Mickey Rourke und Sam Rockwell treten und Iron Man 3 noch einmal Einiges an schauspielerischer Qualität hinzugewinnen. Laut Variety stehen die Gespräche mit Kingsley, den wir zuletzt in Hugo Cabret sehen konnten, kurz vor dem Abschluss. Derzeit dreht er noch den Sci-Fi-Streifen Das Große Spiel….

Elro recently received the illusive stamp of approval from none other than Mike Skinner and went on to release his debut single ‘Bad News’ featuring The D.O.T (Mike Skinner and Rob Harvey) on the resurrected The Beats label – it’s first release in some 5 years.
And now, fresh off the back of ‘Bad News’, which received support from the likes of Radio 1’s Mistajam, Elro has delivered a brilliant new 7 track mixape. Once again, he showcases his intelligent and witty lyrical ability and with features from Grime heavyweights JME and Roll Deep’s Manga, as well as production from Toddla T and Preditah, the interestingly titled ‘Porcelain Corpse’ is not to be missed.
“There’s a real mixture of stuff on here – jokey wordplay stuff but then some more serious stuff too. Whenever I make a serious track I make sure it’s not just for the sake of it. For example ‘Fearing Myself’ is about something I developed called personalisation disorder, which was the darkest times of my life. I tried to explain it as best I could in a track, and I mean every word in it.
There’s another serious track on there too called ‘Mani’, that’s about a kid who’s dad was a suicide bomber. I wrote that thinking that behind every horrible, tragic story, there lies a family, and no one ever thinks about the family of the person, so I tried to explore that too.
But there’s also the funny wordplay style stuff on there with my track with Toddla T, and also with JME and Manga too.
It’s a show case of the sort of music I like and the sort of writing I enjoy doing.” – Elro.
